T minus 2 days and counting

We are moving imminently. Very busy
exciting times. Spent the end of July pulling my hair out at the
lack of work and this week I turned 3 jobs down at least. Why can't
things even themselves out? Anyway, not complaining as work is
good. Funny thing is that we're moving on Sat and then I'm working
for 4 days straight whilst Fera sorts the mountain of boxes. Owch.
The van hire is sorted. There are more boxes than things. I have a
set of keys and rent is paid. To be honest we're in pretty much
there. Housewarming soon - will let you know for sure.
Yet again, my apologies for not keeping up to date with this bit but as DC says, there's probably only 3 people who read it anyway!

We went to Shropshire for ANOTHER awesome pool party at chez Hibbard. The weather was superb, the beer was superb, the pool and the bbq were both superb. Crashing the wedding nearby was almost superb (not a free bar so we legged it!).

Thank you to family H. Hopefully see you all again soon. Also caught up with Rob from last time up in Shrop and he drove me to all the local BMX tracks, even lending me a bike and a helmet. What a top bloke indeed. Two days in London and I was off to Spain to shoot Contador for the cover of Cyclesport. Pretty much a 'big gig' for me. we'd been promised 10 mins but I checked the META afterwards and saw I squeezed 25 out of him. Got a fair selection but wish my Spanish wasn't so non-existent. Also didn't ask for a drive in his car as they would have made some amazing shots. Next time egh! haha. Issue should be out in a week or so. Mega. The 365 shows my after shoot meal - €14 ham, pack of Babybel and a can of Amstel. I know how to look after myself.
The saturday after we spent an evening with Tom & Stu smashing glass over each other. Quite by accident but it happened.

Went to an amazing bar on the roof of the Peckham Plex, had a big curry and booted a hoover. Not in that order. Went for a moto ride with my gang (of one) on the Sunday. Stumbled across Canada Heights and caught the last round of a big Red Bull MX race. Awesome. Bumped into Paul (The man who inspired me the most in photography) Bliss and Alex (Sprung 3 is the best bicycle film ever) Rankin. Saw some big jumps, skidded our little bike around the car park and headed home. Proper good.
Visited our new landlords parents house in Devon whilst on a job. What a place - Morgan, Bentley, Laverda, Velocette, freshwater pool, dogs, space and quiet. Free range chickens for tea and free range bacon for breakfast. Proper free range as it's his brother who breeds them.

Met up with Ben Part of Sideburn fame. Good guy - thank you for the moving boxes! Randomly I met the ex fiancee of one of my oldest friends back in Sheffield. We haven't been in touch for years but she recognised my name and though it worth a check. What a small world - but yet I've never met Beyonce. We saw a seagull eat a pigeon which almost put me off my lunch - but not quite. I shot some more commuters on friday and then went to the big motorcross stunt show at the power station on Sat. More backflips than you could count. Thankfully the crashes you could count on two fingers and both guys walked away. What a two wheeled themed post today. Cest la vie.
Hoping to pack the utensils and grub into a box and have an evening camping with Pugh at our new place. She's back in a bit so I'd better go prepare.
Be in touch as always. keep checking 365 because I know you do (thank you statcounter!) Still going and yesterdays was one of my favourites.
Big love

saw a shooting star last night
06/08/09 15:56
...and that's not a metaphore for "new
talent" or "great friend" or any other nonsense. I real life
shooting star. Wow. I was denying Jim a photo by not posing on all
fours on the bonnet of my car outside the ace cafe. Looked up and
there you go. One more thing to tick off the list.
Last month I have mostly been - getting my arm x rayed, shooting Pulled Apart By Horses for Relentless, riding my motorbikes, watching photographers take drugs in dodgy location houses, knocking myself unconscious at stockwell, planning our house move, cheering on Mark Cavendish in the tour, celebrating 4 years with Fera, melting my wiring loom, shooting a wedding, test driving my dads new bike, pretending Tuffy is Evel Knievel, meeting Ozzy Ozbourne in a bathroom at the Dorchester and Barry from Eastender at his home in Kent. I've managed to get photos into libraries and get myself into the Wellington barracks (legitimately). What else? Loads of stuff really. Feel everything is pretty much covered on 365 so get over there and have a good look.

(the pop failed so we'll get it next time. thanks to assistant / flash-bitch Pete and to Tuffy. Both got skills)
We have found a new house to move into in August (28th) - James Purssells! I've worked with him for over a year and he and his family are moving to Devon so we're going to rent their lovely house. Massive upgrade, great landlord, less than a mile and a half from Stockwell skatepark, and good for transport, excitement and the odd shooting. Seriously, can't wait. We're running out of weekends for the dubstep - clog dancing party but we'll sort something out - even if it's a school night!
Looks like it's going to bucket it down so I'm going to play on a bicycle before it does. Speak soon. Do call round before we move out - wear your loud shoes and park your bike in the hall. It's all good.
Keep checking the 365 and to be honest, this bit of the site is lacking in updates!
